GENETICS (2) WORD PROBLEMS, HEp!?

A genetics word problem I need help with...

Male Labrador crossed with Female Labrador


-yields 16 puppies


9 black fur/ black noses


3 black fur/ pink noses


3 white fur/ black noses


1 white fur/ pink noses





(this is a dihybrid corss)


A.) Assign alleles for each of the 2 characteristics


B.) Give genotypes of both parents


C.) Draw punnet square





#2..


2 mosquitos with straight stingers are mated


-yields 375 offsprings


-289 straight stinger (f1)


-86 wavy stingers (f1)





A.) What is the inheritance pattern?


B.) Genotypes of the parents? (p1)


C.) If 2 F1s with straight stingers are mated and have 180 offsprings, how many would you expect to have wavy stingers

GENETICS (2) WORD PROBLEMS, HEp!?
its a dihybrid meaning it the parents are heterozygoze for both traits so you make up letters for traits like black fur B and white b and black nose N and pink nose is n. the phynotype for parents are heteroz so it BbNn and therefore genotype is black fur and black nose.


the punneted square should be drawn with both sides being crossed as BN BN bn bn then fill in the 16 sqaures..
