A. the inheritance of traits was controlled by blood.


B. all genetic traits bred true.

D. the characteristics of parents were blended in the offspring.


E. only certain forms of domesticated plants and animals bred true.

Before Mendel, what did most people believed about hereditary of traits?
D. The blending of the parent's traits is obvious and observable. And wrong. Mendel proved it wrong and was able to prove it by gross but careful observation and back up his argument with painstaking (some may say tedious) statistics.
