Mendel's study of genetics differed from his contemporaries' studies because he...?

a. used only pure-breeding parents.

b. examined several different traits at the same time.

c. kept careful records and analyzed the data statistically.

d. worked on plants rather than animals.

e. confirmed the blending theory of inheritance.

Please help, thanks!!

Mendel's study of genetics differed from his contemporaries' studies because he...?
C. is the best answer. In fact, his use of mathematics bewildered many other scientists of the day. We expect to see data and mathematical results, but that wasn't the way they did it in Mendel's day. Now we can look back at Mendel's data and see what he was talking about.

It's C.
Reply:I think b is correct. Although he examined the traits independently, he did study them in the same plants. This is rarely done, because it could lead to confussion.

Pure-breeding parents are always used in genetics studies, records are kept carefully and are always followed by statistics analysis. Genetics studies are done both in plants and in animals.

Hope it helps!
Reply:I would have gone for C.. if your records aren't carefully taken and then analyzed it would have the wrong conclusions.
