Which of the following is NOT a goal of biotechnology?

A. to understand more about the process of inheritance and gene expression

B. to provide better understanding and treatment of various human diseases

C. to generate improved agricultural plants and domestic animals

D. to prevent the inheritance of human genes judged to be undesirable

E. All the above choices are valid goals of biotechnology.

Which of the following is NOT a goal of biotechnology?
I'd go for A but E could be true also. A is more of a pure science objective whereas the others could be viewed as the aims of applied science.
Reply:I'd go with D. Biotech deals with understanding biological processes, treating diseases, and improving food sources. It (rightly) stays away from modifying humans, though.

While there is a lot of research into gene therapy to treat genetic disorders once they are in place, determining what genes a person inherits or passes on to their child crosses an ethical line.
Reply:E they are all goals of biotechnology
