Biology...h e l p?

1) the inheritance of a trait in humans is best described as being determined by

a A SINGLE ALLELE

b ONE OR MORE PAIRS OF ALLELES

c ONE PAIR OF CHROMOSOMES

d THE SEX CHROMOSOMES OF THE OFFSPRING

%26amp;

which is the following cell types formed by meiosis?

a MUSCLE CELLS

b SPERM CELLS

c SKIN CELLS

d BLOOD CELLS

if you could...could you please explain why? i'm taking chemistry but i HAVE to take a state-required biology test. please %26amp; thank you. -kia

Biology...h e l p?
1) b.

Human traits are determined by pairs of alleles, one of which comes from each parent.

2) b.

Sex cells are formed by the process of meiosis. Sperm cells are sex cells, which are formed by the process of meiosis.

2) b

alleles are directly linked to what traits we get. meiosis is responsible for the production of gametes like sperm @ egg.
Reply:I can answer the 2nd question!

The 2nd question answer is B. Sperm Cells

Meiosis is used to split the daughter cells in to four daughter cell and there are 4 sperm cells.. while for females at the end of the meiosis cycles there is 1 egg and the other 3 just kinda of die off.

Meiosis goes threw a cycles too.. like it goes threw everything kinda of twice.. like it goes threw it ones making it kinda of mitosis but it goes threw it once more to make it half of the original number of chromosomes..

like for humans

46 during mitosis and at the end of meiosis 23
Reply:BOTH ANSWERS ARE B!
Reply:That first question seems to be incomplete - all of the choices are kind of wrong, and somewhat correct as well. If you're talking about a specific trait like tongue-rolling ability, then you can say how it's inherited, but some things in human inheritance are a single allele (Parkinsons disease) , some things are on the sex chromosomes (red-green colorblindness), some things are inherited by pairs of chromosomes which normally don't come in pairs (Down's Syndrome). It's a bad question.

The other one is easy though. Mitosis is replication of the whole cell and all of it's genetic information, while Meiosis results in splitting of the genetic information in half. In meiosis, each of the daughter cells gets half of the genes. This is usually only done to create germ cells like eggs or sperm. Some plants commit meiosis and are capable of living with half their genes, but in animals, it is used exclusively for production of "haploid" germ cells like sperm and eggs.
Reply:d. because they inharite genes from their parents and i learned bout "sex chromosomes" i also was talked to about meiosis but im not sure i think its d blood cells but not 100% sure, sorry
Reply:The cell types that form meiosis is B- Sperm Cells. In males, meiosis occurs in precursor cells known as spermatogonia that divide twice to become sperm. In females, meiosis occurs in precursor cells known as oogonia that divide twice into oocytes. Im not sure about your first question. Hope this helps you, good luck on the test.
Reply:Dont beleive any of these answers!!!

i know all about Genetics

Number one is B, multiple alleles affect things like traits not just one thing

Number two is B, meiosis is making sex cells

mitosis is body cells
Reply:both are b i think

at least i KNOW the last one is b

its DEFINETLY NOT D
