1) in guinea pigs, black fur (B) is dominant over white fur (b) and rough fur (R) is dominant over smooth (r). a cross between two guinea pigs hybrid for both traits (BbRr x BbRr) produces some offspring that have rough, black fur and some that have smooth, black fur. The genotypes of these offspring illustrate the genetic concept of:
a. intermediate inheritance
b. independent assortment
c. multiple alleles
d. codominance
also.. Where is mRNA synthesized?
a. nucleus
b. cytoplasm
c. lysosome
d. vacuole
Can someone help me with some biology multi-choice questions?
The first question illustrates independent assortment. It's an example of a dihybrid cross, and some of the offspring have phenotypes or forms that are different from the parental forms. Neither parent was black, smooth.
mRNA is synthesized in the nucleus because it has to be made where the DNA is.
Reply:Question 1: b (codominance is wrong; that is when a heterozygote expresses both phenotypes where neither phenotype is completely dominant)
Question 2: a (however mRNA is produced in the cytoplasm of prokaryotes ie bacteria; mRNA is produced in the nucleus of eukaryotes ie humans, plants)
good luck
Reply:D, B
D) why? look at your choices. alleles have nothing to do with this question (well, not what you're being asked) and I don't remember what A or C mean so it's gotta be D
(since I don't remember, it must not have been taught with the same unit, therefore it's not the answer)
B) MESSENGER RNA needs to be made before it can be read by the ribosomes to make RNA. therefore it must be in the nucleus
Reply:A %26amp; a, but I'm only guessing
Reply:1)D. codominance
